{"id":706,"date":"2017-01-05T11:20:00","date_gmt":"2017-01-05T03:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/persatuan.utm.my\/kkautm\/full-support-for-maccs-new-graf-war\/"},"modified":"2017-01-05T11:20:00","modified_gmt":"2017-01-05T03:20:00","slug":"full-support-for-maccs-new-graf-war","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/persatuan.utm.my\/kkautm\/full-support-for-maccs-new-graf-war\/","title":{"rendered":"FULL SUPPORT FOR MACC&#8217;s NEW GRAF WAR"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">The Star<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com.my\/authors?q=%22Farik+Zolkepli%22\">farik zolkepli<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com.my\/authors?q=%22Rashvinjeet+S+Bedi%22\">rashvinjeet s. bedi<\/a>, <span class=\"txt-byline\">and<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com.my\/authors?q=%22Rahimy+Rahim%22\"> rahimy rahim<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">4\/1\/2017 <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>PETALING JAYA: The business community, industry players, civil  servants and Bukit Aman will give their full cooperation to the  Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in the war on graft focusing  on the civil service.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span><span id=\"innity-in-post\"><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>\u201cI have made it clear that corrupt or crooked police personnel will not be tolerated and firm action must be taken.<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>\u201cThe battle against corruption must be fought on all fronts and the  police force is doing its part,\u201d said Inspector-General of Police Tan  Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>Internally, Bukit Aman was always proactive in weeding out crooked  personnel and officers, through the Integrity and Standard Compliance  Department, he added.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"inlineAdMobile\" style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1481270616261-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"inlineAd\" style=\"float: left;text-align: justify;width: 100%\">\n<div id=\"inlineAd1\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1481270723787-0\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>Khalid was commenting on MACC deputy chief commissioner Datuk Azam  Baki\u2019s declaration that the commission\u2019s war on graft would focus on the  civil service, especially the procurement and enforcement sides. <\/span><\/div>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>Congress of Unions of Employees in Public and Civil Services  (Cuepacs) lauded MACC\u2019s war on graft involving civil servants, saying  that it could boost the integrity of the service.<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>Its president Datuk Azih Muda said the move could also boost the country\u2019s ratings at the international stage.<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>Azih hoped that MACC would also focus on preventive measures. <\/span><\/div>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia  secretary-general Datuk Low Kian Chuan said it was a timely move as  there had been many reports of leakages, as noted in the  Auditor-General\u2019s report every year. <\/span><\/div>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>\u201cWe hope the MACC will take it seriously. The business community will cooperate and give their full support,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>Malay Merchants and Entrepreneurs Association vice-president Datuk  Naim Mohamad lauded the move, saying that MACC should also consider  reviewing the procedures and processes of awarding big government  projects.<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>\u201cWe should reduce human intervention and set specifications in order  for it to be fully mechanised. Those who want to apply for tender should  input their information on prepared templates,\u201d said Naim.<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>He said a cashless system should be introduced to eradicate any form of abuse or leakages, especially in government projects.<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span>\u201cAuthorities should have a better system to identify those involved  in graft by monitoring any irregularities in officers\u2019 financial status.
